Jeffery Younes

Jeffery Leon Younes (Bear) passed away at home on June 28th with his family at his side at age 65.

Born in Schenectady on February 15, 1957 to Elwin and Elvira Younes, Jeff graduated from Linton High School in Schenectady in 1977.

Jeffery was predeceased by his parents Elwin and Elvira, his maternal grandparents Candalora and Isolina DAlonzo, his paternal grandparents Elwin and Edna Younes and his brother Richard DAlonzo.

Jeff is survived by brothers and sisters, Albert Younes (Laura), Elwin Jr., Laurie Jenkins, Nancy O’Neal, Sallie Curtis, Ronald (Robin) and Marlene Anitis (Duane). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

A devoted brother and friend, Jeff enjoyed bowling, arts and crafts, bingo and music of all genres. He loved collecting photos of his family and friends, hats of all kinds and C. D’s. Jeff was well known at the local diner where he would meet with his closest friends Debbie, Ruth and Nancy every Saturday and Sunday morning for breakfast.

Jeff was a dedicated Tom Brady fan and a NY Yankees fan. He was given the honor of receiving a video message from his hero Tom Brady prior to his passing.

He was kind, funny and thoughtful to all who met him. A spiritual man, he will be deeply missed by his friends and family and all who knew him.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday July 2nd from 12 noon to 2 pm at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady, NY. A service will be held at 2 pm with Rev. Dominick Isopo officiating.

Interment in the family lot at St John the Baptist Cemetery will be held on Thursday July 7, 2022, at 11:30 am.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Edward and Robert Pangburn for their many years of love and friendship. The family would also like to recognize and thank the Schenectady ARC and staff for all the years of support and friendship.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Schenectady ARC in Jeff’s memory.
