Jean E. Machin

Jean E. Machin, 86, of Rotterdam passed away at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady on Saturday March 2, 2024. Born in Oneida, NY, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Grace (Boyer) Nazzitto.

The family moved to Norwich, NY where after graduation from Norwich High School, graduated from the Binghamton School of Nursing as Registered Nurse in 1962.

Jean taught nursing in New York City before meeting her husband Richard and moving to Canada. Jean returned to the US and moved to Schenectady in 1971. She then became employed at Ellis Hospital and for the last 20 years of her career there was a Psychiatric Nurse before retiring in 2002.

Besides her parents, she is predeceased by a sister Judith Harris.

Jean is survived by her loving daughter Rita Machin, her siblings Gloria Foster, Dolores Pellicciotti (Robert), Joyce Steward, Susan Zeh, John Nazzitto (Patti), Christine Yannotti (James) and Anita Simmons (Stephen) as well as several loving nieces and nephews that she adored.

Jean loved nothing more than spending time with family and friends, especially at the holidays, steak dinners, Bacardi Cocktails very sweet with a cherry and watching her daughter perform on stage.

Jean had the biggest heart and will be greatly missed by those who loved her.

Funeral Services for Jean will be on Saturday March 9, 2024, at 1PM at the Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. A visitation will be held from 11am-1pm prior.
