Jason Michael Latus

Jason Michael Latus, 27, passed away in the loving arms of his mother and father on Sunday June 3, 2012 at Albany Medical Center due to complications related to Muscular Dystrophy. Jason was born in Pequannock, NJ and moved to Rotterdam Junction shortly after birth. He attended Schalmont Schools and graduated from Schalmont High School in June 2004. Jason attended the Center for Disabilities program on Western Avenue in Albany. He will be remembered by his many friends and staff for his sense of humor and unique outlook on life. Through the Center, Jason did volunteer work at Meals on Wheels, the Alpha Center and Goodwill Industries. Jason had many extraordinary abilities and talents. He loved spending time at Sacandaga Lake by the campfire. Jason was passionate about his cat-Dolly, his ever growing Hat collection, McDonald's Happy Meals, the Dollar Store and Rock and Roll Music. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him especially his mother and father, Janice (Dorsey) and Ernie Latus of Rotterdam Junction whose world revolved around him, he is also survived by two Aunts Wendy Merk (James Edwards) of Perth, NY and Sharon Lincoln of Denver, CO, four cousins-Travis Lincoln, Kayley Lincoln, Chris Merk, and Kevin Merk. A Memorial Service will be Thursday evening 6PM at the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation will be 5-6PM prior to the service. Inurnment will be in Parkview Crematory.
