James A. Williams,79 passed away on Monday morning August 16, 2021 at Glendale Home in Glenville, NY.
Born and educated in Schenectady, James was the son of the late Francis and Charlotte (Bailey) Williams and a 1960 graduate of Mont Pleasant High School.
A Vietnam Era United States Navy veteran, James worked for over 29 years in the turbine department of the General Electric Company prior to his retirement in 1997.
A volunteer at the Friendship House in Saratoga and at the Schenectady Airport in the Aeronautics Museum, Jim was a foster parent, enjoyed photography, was an avid fisherman and took great pride in being Santa in the Rotterdam and Crossgates Malls at Christmas Time.
Jim would like to be remembered as “He was a good man”.
Predeceased in 2008 by his beloved wife Lynne Fuller Williams, he was also predeceased by his daughter-in-law, JoAnne in 2015 and his brother Joseph Williams.
He is survived by his children James R. Williams and his wife Patsy of Ballston Lake and Katina Benson-Williams of Schenectady, his 5 grandchildren Jason (Tamara), Stephen (Sandy), Erika, Jasmine and Angel, great grandchildren Brian, Kaira, Patrick, Alexander and 3 other great grandchildren.
A celebration of James life will be held at a later date.
