James Mccrary

James S. McCrary 78 of Ballston Avenue died Thursday October 7, 2004 at Ellis Hospital after a short illness. Born in Barbour County, Alabama James was the son of the late Joseph and Audrey (Stedman) McCrary. James lived in Thomaston, Ga. and moved to the Scotia area in 1947.A WWII Marine Veteran, James worked for the General Electric Company for over 33 years retiring as a supervisor in 1986. He was a former manager in the Ft. Johnson Babe Ruth, a former Boy Scout Master and Cub Scout leader, a former member of the Clifton Park Elks and an avid golfer and a member of the Elks Golf League. He is survived by five children; Patricia Webb of Johnstown, NY, James McCrary Jr. of Munich, Germany, Thomas J. McCrary of Rotterdam, RichardM. McCrary of Hagaman and Donald K. McCrary of Schenectady, three sisters; Mima Jane Smith of Thomaston, GA, Dorothy Ward of Molena, GA.and Mary Jo Sheely of Manchester, GA, a brother; Joseph B. McCrary of Clewiston, Fl., his dear friend June Donavan of Scotia, twelve grandchildren, four great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. James was predeceased by a brother Kenneth McCrary and two sisters; Esther Greathouse and Margaret Huckaby. Funeral services will be held of Tuesday morning October 12, 2004 at 11 am at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave, Schenectady, NY. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday morning from 10 to 11 am prior to the service. Interment with military honors will be held in Saratoga National Cemetery.
