James Kennedy

James F. Kennedy, also known as Frederick J. Kennedy, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday September 2, 2005, following a long illness. Mr. Kennedy was born on September 21, 1927, in Lake Placid, New York to George and Marion Kennedy. He was educated in Lake Placid Schools and served in the Navy in World War 2 aboard the Escort Carrier USS Core CVE13 with the sixth fleet in the Pacific. After being honorably discharged in 1946, he resided in Schenectady, NY. Mr. Kennedy was a Master Plumber and Steamfitter with Local 105 from 1947 until his retirement in 1989, working most recently at the General Dynamics at the Kesselring site in West Milton. Mr. Kennedy was a communicant of St. Gabriel's Church in Rotterdam, NY. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother George Kennedy and four sisters, Doris Kennedy, Anita Kennedy, Frances Gadway and Charis LaLonde Survivors include his beloved wife of 58 years, Geraldine Fancher Kennedy, his four loving daughters Sylvia Heiner(Paul) of Saratoga Springs, Diane King(Richard) of Rotterdam, Cynthia Cheney ( Charles) and Ramona Carson ( Russell) of Niskayuna, nine Grandchildren: Paul J. Heiner, Mark T. Heiner. Brian King, Barry King ( Heather), Tamara Reed ( Andrew), Jamie Lemm ( David), David Adams, Janelle Pfister( Robert) and Julie Riccio, four Great Grandchildren Milan Pfister, Anthony Pfister, Nylah Adams and Arianna Reed, also survived by two brothers William Kennedy of Syracuse and Jack Kennedy of Wisconsin. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 8:15AM at the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue Schenectady followed by a Mass at 9AM at St Gabriel's Church Hamburg St. Rotterdam. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours will be Monday evening 5 to 8PM at the Funeral Home. Internment will be Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna. Contributions can be made in Jim's memory to the American Red Cross 33 Everett Road Albany, NY 12205 for relief from Hurricane Katrina or to the American Heart Association 440 New Karner Road Albany, NY 12205.
