James Kenneth Cromme IV

James K. "Jim" Cromme IV, 56, passed away unexpectedly on July 5, 2026.

Born on August 14, 1969, in Schenectady, New York, Jim was a kind-hearted, caring man whose generosity, love for family, and appreciation for the outdoors touched the lives of many. Those who knew him often described him as someone who would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need.

Jim found joy in spending time outdoors, especially fishing and golfing. He was happiest when sharing those passions with others, particularly his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. He took great pride in teaching them about nature, the outdoors, and the simple lessons that come from spending time together. Whether at a favorite fishing spot, on a golf course, or cheering from the sidelines of a youth sporting event, Jim treasured every moment with his grandsons.

A devoted fan of the Las Vegas Raiders, Jim remained loyal through the team's ups and downs, often joking that it wasn't always easy being a Raiders fan. His passion for football, combined with his good humor and unwavering loyalty, made him a beloved companion among family and friends.

Many knew him simply as "Jim," a friend who could always be counted on for a helping hand, a kind word, or a listening ear. He cherished his family and friends above all else and built lasting relationships through his genuine compassion, generosity, and unwavering loyalty.

Jim is survived by his father, James K. Cromme III (Judith); his mother, Charmaine D. Aggen; his brothers, Jason Callarman and Chris Callarman; his son, Tyler Cromme (Amanda); his daughter, Kayla Hathaway; and his beloved grandsons, Paxton Cromme and Landon Cromme. He is also survived by dear friends Charlotte Hathaway, Sterling Hathaway, and Brenda Hathaway, along with many other relatives and friends who were fortunate to know him.

Jim will be remembered for his generous spirit, compassionate heart, and the love he shared with family and friends. His legacy lives on through the lessons he taught, the memories he created, and the countless lives he touched through his kindness.

Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing that the values he lived by—love, generosity, friendship, and devotion to family—will continue to endure in those who knew and loved him.

Graveside memorial services will be held at Prospect Hill Cemetery on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend as family and loved ones gather to honor and celebrate Jim's life.
