James Burris

James Burris 65 of Schenectady died Tuesday morning January 22, 2008 at St Clares Hospital After a short illness. Born in Darlington, SC, James was the son of the late David Burrough and Cora Lee (Slater) Burrough of New York City. A mechanic, James was the owner of Jimmy and Sons Auto Repair in Schenectady for several years. He was a member and volunteer of Consecration Temple Church of God and Christ and the Masonic order. James enjoyed gospel music and loved fishing. Survivor's include his wife Loretta Yelverton Burris of Schenectady and his children, Michael Yelverton , Timothy Burris, Christy Yelverton, Tammy Burris and Debbie Burris Lopez all of Schenectady, Jimmy Burris , Conrad Burris and Vanessa Burris all of N.Y.C., Rene Burris of Rockland County, Denise Yelverton of Virginia, TV Burris of the Bronx and Tracy Yelverton of South Carolina, two sisters, Tracey Burris and Sara Ann Burris of N.Y.C., several grandchildren,1 great grandchild and several nieces and nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday evening January 30th at 7:30 pm at Consecration Temple Church of God and Christ, State Street, Schenectady, NY. A visitation will be held at the church from 5:30 to 7:30 pm prior to the funeral service. Interment Thursday morning at Evergreen Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to the Consecration Temple Church of God and Christ. Arrangements are by Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave, Schenectady, NY.
