James M. Brockway

James M. Brockway, 81, of Rotterdam passed away at home on Monday January 6, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Syracuse, he was the son of the late Rev. Albert and Marjorie (Kaye) Brockway.

He was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School. James was employed for 36 years as a Logistic Specialist for the General Electric Company in Schenectady.

James was a volunteer firefighter for the Plotterkill Fire Department for 15 years. He was an avid golfer and passionate about collecting golf clubs, key chains, and knives. James also captured tons of videos, highlighting his grandchildren's sporting events.

He was the loving caretaker of his late wife Joyce in her final years. And like her was passionate about going to the Jersey Shore. James would also help anybody in any way possible.

Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his wife Joyce. James is survived by his children Jill Squires (Jeff) and Jeff Brockway, his brother Richard Brockway (Pat). He also leaves behind six grandchildren Dan Squires (Caitlyn) Ryan Squires, Kaylie Squires (Mike Church). Robert Brockway, Justin Brockway and Levi Brockway as well as one great grandchild, McKenzie.

Funeral Services for James will be on Tuesday at 10AM at the Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. Calling hours will be Monday evening from 5-7PM at the funeral home. Interment in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Guilderland.
