James B. Archibald, 90, passed away on Monday July 16th at Loving Home at Fredericks in Glenville. Born in Newark, New Jersey, he was the son of the late James and Margaret (Brownlee) Archibald. James was a graduate of the State University of New York at Canton and served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was a designer of generators for the General Electric Company in Schenectady for 41 years prior to his retirement. James was also a holder of many patents during his years with the General Electric Company. A member of the GE Quarter Century Club, James was a former Cub Scout leader and a former member of the Hickory Hill Ski Area. James also enjoyed and was passionate about carpentry. James is survived by his loving wife of 66 yeras, Eleanor (Cordy) Archibald whom he married February 23, 1952. He is also survived by his sons James K. Archibald of Kola,Hawaii and Timothy S. Archibald of El Sobrante,California and his daughters Robin Heberling (Paul) of Lawrenceburg, Indiana and Susan Harding (Dale) of Knightdale, North Carolina. James also leaves behind his three grandchildren Brian Heberling, Eli Archibald and Wilson Archibald. Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning July 21st at 10 am at Bond Funereal Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave, Schenectady, NY. Entombment will be in St. Cyril and Method Cemetery in Rotterdam.
