Jake (Donald) Fortier

Jake (Donald) Fortier,62, passed away at St Peters Hospital in Albany on August 14, 2022.

Born in Niskayuna, Jake was the son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Micski) Fortier and attended Schalmont High School.

Jake worked in construction for over 40 years and was employed at Bellamy Construction, Scotia, NY.
Jake’s passion was music, he enjoyed playing his drums and piano, riding his motorcycle and he loved his grand doodles, Maggie and Moose.

He is survived by his children, Nicholas J. Fortier (Jennifer) of Waxhaw, NC and Erika Iler (Duke) of Pattersonville, his former wife and dear friend, Dawn (DuPrey) Fortier of Schenectady, his siblings, Ronald Bulley (Martha), Joseph Fortier (Leslie), Jo-Anne Fortier Mahar (Richard), Peggy Fortier Fahey (Steve), his Twin Donna Fortier Legere Davignon (Michael), Laurie Aperance Harding, William Aperance (Kim), Debbie Aperance Smith (Larry), Rae Ann Aperance Serapilio (Arnie) and Jeffrey Aperance (Cindy) and his many nieces and nephews.

A service for Jake will be celebrated on Saturday August 20th at 11:30 am at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady, NY. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9 to 11:30 am prior to his service.
