Israel Torres

Israel Torres 81 of Schenectady died Tuesday afternoon July 29, 2008 at Ellis Hospital after a long illness. Born and educated in Puerto Rico he was the son of the late Francisco and Francisca Torres. Israel was a former taxi driver in New York City for several years before retiring. Survivor's include his children, Felix Torres, Carlos Torres, Arturo Torres and Carmen Torres all of Schenectady, Bernice Torres of Yonkers ,Maria Torres and Damarys Torres both of Puerto Rico , his former wife Ester Rosa of Schenectady ,step-children, Erica Rosa of Schenectady and Melinda Rosa of N.C. , 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday morning July 31, 2008 at 1 pm at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave, Schenectady, NY. A calling hour will be held from 12 to 1 pm prior to the funeral service. Contributions may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, Albany, NY.
