Irene K. Goodwin

Irene K. Goodwin, 70, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2025 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Yonkers, NY, she was the daughter of the late George and Florence (Riddett) Niciu.

She was retired from Union College where she worked as a dispatcher for many years.

Irene enjoyed quilting, boating, tea and spoiling her grandchildren.

She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Irene is predeceased by her husband Charles Goodwin.

She leaves behind her four children: Loreen Evans (David), Charles Goodwin Jr. (Erin), Lindsay Althiser (Charlie), Amanda Mooney (Ed). A brother Jack Cartwright, sister Doreen Niciu as well as six grandchildren- C.J, Ava, Madison, Leah, Ariella, and Audrey.

A Celebration of Irene’s life will be on Sunday January 4, 2026 at 3 PM at the Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. A Visitation will be from 1-3 prior to the service.

Contributions can be made in Irene’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
