Helen Elizabeth Adriance

Helen E. Adriance, 97, Rotterdam passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday May 10, 2014. Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of Edward Joseph and Helen Mary (Crowley) Hayes. Helen was a graduate of Draper High School. She was employed for the YWCA in Schenectady as a cafeteria worker. Prior to that, she was employed as hairdresser and for the Federal Bakery, both in Saratoga. Helen was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Church in Schenectady and was a member of its Rosary Society. After that she attended Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Rotterdam. Helen was also a member of the Draper School PTA and music mothers. She was predeceased by her husband Raymond A. Adriance Sr. whom she married August 21, 1940 and two brothers John Hayes and James Hayes. Helen is survived by her son Raymond A. Adriance Jr. (Starr) of Rotterdam and four grandchildren Kenneth A. Adriance (Michele), Craig Adriance, Kimberly Ploof ( Todd) and Kerry Kiernan., also survived by eight great grandchildren Chelsea McCumber, Angela Adriance, Hunter McCumber, Makayla Kiernan, Camden Kiernan, Keagan Adriance, Alyssa Adriance and Kylie Adriance. Funeral Services will be Wednesday 10:30am at the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A calling hour will be Wednesday from 9:30-10:30AM prior to the service. Internment will be in Schenectady Memorial Park in Rotterdam.
