Gwendolyn Lynette Carter-Jones was born January 2, 1959 in Steubenville Ohio to Marion CarterLaPoint and Earl Hunt. Gwendolyns great Aunt Dorothy Bloomer- Milton raised her as her own from infancy. Carter-Jones was raised in Saratoga Springs NY with her grandmother Catherine Agnus Bloomer and her son Napoleon D. Bloomer. She graduated from Saratoga springs high school in 1977. Shortly after her family moved to Los Angeles California where she enrolled and graduated with a prelaw degree from Pasadena community college in 1981.
Carter-Jones gave birth to three beautiful children Monique Jones (1981) Amber Searles (1983) Daniel Jones (1993) and the late Deanna Jones (1997) In 1992 she married Lowell Irvin Jones at Bethel C.O.G.I.C settling in Schenectady NY where they raised their children. Gwendolyn loved working with children and after studying early childhood education at SUNY Albany she became a pre-school teacher for many years. Gwendolyn loved caring and cooking for people in her community and was always willing to give a helping hand. She enjoyed designing weddings, parties and events and considered herself a down to earth person that loved her family and the word of Christ! She was a dedicated member at Bethel church of God and Christ for decades where she was a evangelist missionary!
After a short illness, the lord called her home to glory on January 20, 2021 at Ellis hospital. She leaves to rejoice in her homecoming three children (Monique, Amber, Daniel) and her granddaughter Eden, her uncle Napoleon Bloomer and his wife Marian and sons Raymond and Ryan of California, and her cousin Linda Roberts Smith and her children Aaron and Blair of South Carolina. And many friends and extended family!
