Gladys Balazovich

Gladys L. Balazovich, 97 died Saturday April, 1st 2023 at home in the loving arms of her daughter Sue and Granddaughter Nicole.

Born and educated in Schenectady, Gladys was the daughter of the late Menzo and Laura Hogaboone Cooper. She was married for 60 years to the late John Balazovich.

Gladys enjoyed many years of going to Florida with John and spending time with their good friends Rudy and Doris. She loved to go to parades and put picture puzzles together. She also loved to cook and bake and watch the food channel.

She was predeceased by eight brothers, Ernie, Lavern (Toodie) Robert, Earl, Menzo Jr, Frank Gerald (Sonny) and Donald. Gladys was also predeceased by her five sisters, Dorothy Jegier, Helen Dashnaw, Arlene Cooper, Catherine Nelson and Judith Cochrane.

She is survived by her daughters, Carol Chagnon and her husband Tony of Rotterdam and Karen Susan Balazovich of Amsterdam. Three grandchildren, Nicole Signore, Richard Chagnon Jr. and Lisa Caffarella. Three great granddaughters and twin sisters Joan Brann and Jean Jewell also several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Kevin Cope of family medicine of Amsterdam and The Mountain Valley Hospice.

A Special thank you to John Bradley and Luke Scala for all their love and support and for all the pies and donuts Luke would bring her that she loved and enjoyed.

A graveside service for Gladys will be held at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, 2150 Central Avenue, Colonie at 2PM on Thursday, April 6th.
