Gino P. Zampa, 84, of Rotterdam passed away on Saturday March 25, 2017 at the Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany. Born in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Gino and Lena (Agonita) Zampa. He served his country in the Army during the Korean War. Gino was employed in general construction for Local Union 157 in Schenectady. He was man of simple taste. Gino is predeceased by two sisters Janet Albertini and Nancy DeSaln. Gino is survived by his loving wife Virginia Rolfe Zampa whom he married January 11, 1969, six children Debra Zampa, Anthony Zampa, Gina Abrahamson (Kurt), Joseph Zampa (Tina), Laura Kieran (Shawn) and Patricia Mason (Robert). He is also survived by one sister Gail Malone and several grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Gino will be Saturday 11AM at the Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. A calling hour will precede the service from 10-11AM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Vale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Gino's memory to Community Hospice 445 New Karner Road Albany, NY 12205 or to the Huntington Disease Society 505 Eighth Avenue Suite 902 New York, NY 10018.
