Gholson Howard, Jr., playfully known as "Bitaman", 60, went home to be with the Lord on the evening of Thursday, September 3, 2015. Born in Henderson, NC on October 17, 1954 to the late Gholson Howard and Mary Frances Evans Howard. He was a devoted father, grandfather and Servant of Jesus Christ. At an earlier age he loved gardening. He enjoyed his position as a youth basketball coach at the Jerry Burrell Park. He was a veteran of the Marine Corps stationed in Norfolk, VA. He loved music and worked as a DJ throughout the Capital District area. He skillfully performed under the name of "Clyde and the Music Man". He was actively employed by the Salvation Army as a Supervisor of Operations for over 10 years. He genuinely loved cooking and feeding all those in need. Gholson was a devoted member of Refreshing Springs Church of God in Christ. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Muriel George. Gholson Howard leaves to treasure his memory 3 daughters, Laeloni Walker, Amber Gyamfi (Fred), and Lisa Walker, one sister, Angela Dwebeng, 3 brothers, Melvin Scott Howard (Wendy), Terrance Anthony Howard and Charles Davis, 8 grandchildren, 7 step sisters and brothers and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. The funeral service will take place on Friday, September 11, 2015 at Refreshing Springs Church of God in Christ, 327 Georgetta Dix Plz., Schenectady, NY at 11am. Calling hours will be Friday morning, 9-11am at the church prior to the service. Interment with military honors will be in Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville on Monday, September 14.
