George Seeger

George M. Seeger,84, entered into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ Friday evening December 29th at Schenectady Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Schenectady. Born in Ilion, N.Y., George was the son of Paul and Stephania (Ziobro) Seeger and a 1951 graduate of Draper High School in Rotterdam, NY. An army veteran in the engineering department in Virginia and New York, George went to work for the General Electric Company for more then 41 years retiring as a Drafting Supersivor in 1988. A member of the GE Quarter Century Club, he served in the Gideon's and was the Principal of Cornerstone Christian Academy. He was a member of the Abounding Grace Christian Church, where he served as an usher and in LOVE,INC. His greatest joy was to spend time on his island in Saranac Lake with his family. He will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband ,father, grandfather and great grandfather. George was predeceased by his parents Paul and Stephania and his sister,Norma Roode. He is survived by his sweetheart of 64 years Barbara (Link) Seeger who he married March 14, 1953, his devoted children; Sharon LeBeau (Warren), George Seeger(Teresa), Edward Seeger(Debra),John Seeger(Robin), Kathleen Kelley(Patrick) and Stephen Seeger(Kim), his 14 grandchildren ,11 great grandchildren and niece Regina Enos. A visitation will be held on Friday evening January 5th from 6 to 8 pm at Abounding Grace Christian Church, 3060 Hamburg Street, Schenectady, NY 12303. The funeral service will follow on Saturday morning January 6th at 10 am, relatives and friends and are invited to attend. Interment will be held in the spring in Schenectady Memorial Park. In lieu of Flowers contributions may be made in George's memory to the Abounding Grace Christian Church, 3060 Hamburg Street, Schenectady, NY 12303.
