George H. Mulyca. 86, passed away early Saturday morning August 17th at his home in Rotterdam.
Born and educated in Rotterdam, George was the son of the Late William and Elizabeth (Ramutkowski) Mulyca and a 1953 graduate of Draper High School.
A former farmer, George worked with his father at William Mulyca and Son Septic Company and later was the owner of George Mulyca Septic.
George had a love for roller skating and in his younger years skated competitively before he became a floor guard.
A former member of St Margaret of Cortona Church, George was always extremely proud of his children’s and grandchildren’s accomplishments and was always their to help a friend or customer in need.
The founder of Maple Ski Ridge, George was a member of the National Ski Patrol, a member of National Ski Area Association and the Ski Area Association of New York.
Predeceased by his brother, Vincent Mulyca, nephew, Mark D. Mulyca and former canine companion Tippy, George is survived by his daughters, Marilyn L. Peterson (Richard) of Delanson and Carolyn S. LaHart of Rotterdam, his grandchildren, Benjamin Peterson(Brooke), Spencer Peterson, Phillip LaHart and Elizabeth LaHart, great grandchildren, Caleb and Bailey Peterson, his brother David Mulyca (Marlies) of Rotterdam and sister, Cindy Enos Perillo (Steve) of NH and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Friday evening August 23rd from 5 to 7 pm at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave, Schenectady, NY. Services will be held on Saturday morning August 24th at 10 at Christ Church of the Hills, 4809 Mariaville Road, Schenectady, with a visitation from 9 to 10am prior to the service.
Entombment will be in Schenectady Memorial Park Mausoleum in Rotterdam.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in George’s memory to Community Hospice,445 New Karner road, Albany, NY 12205
