George R. Lent, 87, of Duanesburg Road, Duanesburg died suddenly Sunday February 25, 2007 at Ellis Hospital. George was born in Brooklyn, NY and was the son of Oscar and Elizabeth (Washington) Lent. He served in the US Marines from 1944-45. George was employed for ALCO for 26 years finishing as a Diesel tester. He was then employed as an Electrician for IBEW Local 236. George was a member of the IBEW Retirees Club, a Committeeman in Duanesburg and a member of the Board of Assessment Review for the Town of Duanesburg. George loved Politics and enjoyed being an Auto mechanic and Gardening. He was a Good and Hard working Person. George is predeceased by one child Donald Gardener, two Brothers- Robert Lent and Arthur Lent and one brother in law Fred Munker. He is survived by his wife Barbara Bennett Lent whom he married December 20, 1975, 10 Children- James Lent (Sharon) of Hagaman, Patricia Mitchell ( Nelson) of Poughkeepsie, Mary Ellen Lent of Poughkeepsie, John Lent of Schenectady, Clare Goodrow ( William) of Palm Bay, Fl., Catherine Mare' (George) of Colonie, Richard Lent of Rotterdam, Elizabeth ( Betty Jean) Lent of Rotterdam, Diane Macherone ( Anthony) of Ballston Spa and James Gardner of Hollywood Fl., one sister Virrginia Munker of Odenton, MO also survived by 16 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren and Several Nieces and Nephews. Funeral Services will be Friday 12 Noon at the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling Hours will be Thursday evening 7-9PM at the Funeral Home. Internment will be in Memory's Garden in Colonie.
