George J Kozak

George J. Kozak, 75, of Ontario Street Schenectady died Wednesday October 25, 2006 at Ellis Hospital after a long illness. George was born in Schenectady and was the son of the late Joseph and Frances (Anioleck) Kozak. He served in the US Marines and was one of the first four drafted for the Korean Conflict. George was stationed at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. He was employed as a Steamfitter for the General Electric Company in Schenectady for 40 years retiring in 1990. George was a board member and Club Steward for the Young Men's Polish Association. He was also a member of the GE Quarter Century Club. George is predeceased by one Brother Ed Kozak and four Sisters Anna Whelan, Sophie Kozak, Bernice Ralbovsky and Helen Korkosz. George is survived by his wife Sue Gallo Kozak whom he married August 14, 1955, one son Jack Kozak of Schenectady, three Brothers Frank Kozak of Schenectady Steve Kozak of Florida and Cas Kozak of Phoenix, AZ,one sister Agnes Elinski of Niskayuna, also survived by Several Nieces and Nephews, Several Great Nieces and Nephews and Several Great Great Nieces and Nephews. Funeral Services will be Monday 8:15AM at the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue Schenectady followed by a Mass at 9AM at the Church of St. Adalbert 550 Lansing Street Schenectady. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling Hours will be Sunday evening 6-8PM at the Funeral home. Entombment will be in St. Cyril and Method Cemetery Mausoleum in Rotterdam. Contributions can be made in George's memory to the George J. Kozak Scholarship Foundation c/o Branch Manager at the First Niagara Bank 2526 Broadway Schenectady, NY 12306.
