George R Endries

George R. Endries 74 of Rotterdam died Monday evening October 9, 2006 at home after a short illness. Born in Schenectady, NY, George was the son of the late George and Barbara (Baan) Endries and a 1950 graduate of Draper High School and the General Electric Apprentice Course. George was a 27 year member of the Stratton Air National Guard, the Alumni Association of the Air National Guard, the General Electric ? century club, the Apprentice Alumni Association, the Rotterdam Elks, where he was chairman of the Elks Football Club for the past 16 years, the Rotterdam Senior Citizens, the Schenectady Light Opera, the Cohoes Music Hall and Mt Carmel Church. George had worked for the General Electric Company, Young and Franklin, Unitec Development and Schenectady ARC. George is survived by his wife of 51 years Patricia McFarland Endries who he married April 16, 1955, his four children, Marc and Carole Sitterly Endries of Loudonville, Kimberley and Mark Tyner of California, Michele Endries of Rotterdam and Maureen and William Seel of Petersburg, NY, his brother, Gordon R. Endries and wife Lorraine of Rotterdam and sister, Joan Groff and husband Judson of Florida. George was also Poppie to his twin grandchildren, Cheyenne and Cody Redmond Seel and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning October 14, 2006 at 8:15 am at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave, Schenectady, NY followed at 9 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Pleasant St., Schenectady where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hour will be held at the funeral home Friday evening from 4 to 8 pm. Interment will be in St. Cyril's Cemetery, Rotterdam, In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in George's memory to the George R. Endries/ Rotterdam Elks Athletic Scholarship Fund, in C/O Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave, Schenectady, NY 12306
