George W. Bloom, 90, of Rotterdam Junction died Monday at Baptist Health and Rehabilitation Center in Scotia. Born in Elizabethtown, NY, he was the son of the late Daniel and Helen (Patterson) Bloom. George served in the US Army in World War 2. He was employed as a Mail Carrier for the US Post Office. George was a member of the Rotterdam Junction Volunteer Fire Department He is survived by his wife Margaret (Graham) Bloom whom he married June 24, 1950, two sons Mark T. Bloom of Rotterdam Junction and George W. Bloom of Falmouth, ME, one daughter Nancy Goldfinger of Williamsport, PA, also survived by 7 Grandchildren-Sarah, Marty, Danny, Christine, Megan, Michael and Joshua. Funeral Services will be Friday 11AM at the Gerald B.H. Solomon -Saratoga National Cemetery 200 Duell Road Schuylerville, NY. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend. Contributions can be made in George's memory to the Baptist Health and Rehabilitation Center 297 Ballston Avenue Scotia, NY 12302. Arrangements are by the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue Schenectady.
