George Allen Bishop

George A. Bishop 72, passed away on Tuesday March 27th at Bayfront Health in Spring Hill, Florida. Born and educated in Schenectady, George was the son of the late Lorenzo and Ruth (Snell) Bishop and a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School. An assembler for the General Electric Company for over 35 years, George retired in 2000, he was also a Vietnam era Army veteran and a member of the Esperance Elks. George is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years Laurel (Long) Bishop who he married on April 25th of 1970, his brother David Bishop and his wife Carolyn of Oregon and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his sister Ruth Nutting and his brother William Bishop. A service will be held at Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery on Wednesday morning April 4th at 11:30 am with full military honors. There will be no calling hours by request.
