Gail Pross

June 29, 1945 — January 24, 2023

Gail F. Pross , 77, passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, January 24th surrounded by family.

Born and raised in Schenectady, Gail was the daughter of the late Ann Borucki Michon and a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School.


Gail was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished spending time with her family and best friends Karen and Melodie. While working as a secretary for more than 31 years in the Mohonasen School District, Gail was loved and admired by her students and the entire community. Even after her retirement in 2010, Gail fostered numerous friendships with the students and families from the district.


She was predeceased by her mother, Ann Michon, and her son Michael B. Pross. Gail is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years Norman D. Pross. She is also survived by brother, Ronald Michon and wife Rita of Schenectady; son, Jeffrey K. Pross and wife Amy of Marlton, NJ; daughter-in-law, Kimberly L. Pross of Mooresville, NC; as well as her grandchildren, Sara J. Pross, Waverly J. Pross, and Logan B. Pross.


A private service will be held for Gail on Monday, January 30, 2023. Gail will be laid to rest at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. A celebration of Gail’s life will be held at a future date.


Norman Pross would like to give a special thank you to all the nurses and staff at St. Mary’s Hospital and Healthcare of Amsterdam who provided above and beyond care and compassion to Gail.


The family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your local Women’s Shelter in memory of Gail.
