Gail F Nicholas

Gail F. Nicholas,79, passed away on Thursday August 11th at her home surrounded by her family.

Born and educated in Schenectady, Gail was the daughter of the late Fred and Grace (Butler) Wilson and a 1961 graduate of Mont Pleasant High School.

Gail graduated from S.U.N.Y New Paltz in 1965 with a degree in Art History/Education and went on to work as an Art teacher in several schools over her 25-year career including Guilderland, Immaculate Conception, St John the Evangelist and St Anthony’s Schools.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother Gail enjoyed sewing, reading, cooking, arts and crafts and working in her garden. She especially enjoyed all activities with her grandchildren.

Gail is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years Daniel J. Nicholas, her children, Julie Cummings (Richard) of Rotterdam, David Nicholas (Maureen) of Cobleskill and Steven Nicholas (Grace) of Broadview Heights, OH, her grandchildren, Maya, Benjamin, Tessa, Adrianna, Daniel and David Nicholas and Brianna Cummings, her sisters, Linda Andreine (James) of Rotterdam and Marlene Ostrowski of Alaska, her brother, Mark Wilson (Judy) of Pattersonville, her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Samuel Ferrucci of Scotia and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation to celebrate Gail’s life will be held on Wednesday August 17, 2022 from 10 am to 12 noon at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady, NY followed at 1 pm at St Luke’s Church, 1241 State Street, Schenectady where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Interment in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna, NY
