Fredericka Malison

July 24, 1925 — October 19, 2006

Fredericka Doris (Nee Gable) Malison, "Freddie" 81 of Rotterdam died peacefully on Thursday October 19, 2006 at Brightview Assisted Living in Bel Air Maryland where she has resided since March. Born in Scranton, PA on July 24, 1925, the daughter of Hiram and Nessie (Nee Ross) Gable, Freddie was raised in Glenburn and attended Clarks Summit High School. Freddie retired from the Watervliet Arsenal in 1986. Earlier in her career she was employed by the United States Liability Insurance Group, Inc. in Wayne Pa, and the former Schenectady Army Depot in Rotterdam. She will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, her boundless energy and her generous spirit. She loved her home and family, which included six grandsons, and enjoyed cooking and baking, flower gardening, travel, the Jersey Shore and Casinos and making friends and family laugh. Freddie was married for 60 years to Robert Charles malison who died in February of this year. She was also predeceased by her beloved mother-in-law Agnes Liberski Carson, three brothers Ross Gable, Frank Gable and Finely Gable and a sister Elizabeth Gable Arre. She is survived and will be missed by her three children; Janet Way(John) of Wayne, PA, Patricia Vajda(Michael) of Bel Air, MD and Robert Malison (Sharon) of Rotterdam; six grandchildren, Robert Ruddell, Thomas Ruddell, Nickolas Vajda, Peter Vajda, Zachary Malison and Joshua Malison, a great granddaughter, Samantha Ruddell, her best friend and most loving twin sister, Freda Gable Ciccotelli(Salvatore) of Clark, NJ and her nephew Ross Gable of Florida and several other nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday morning October 23, 2006 at 10 am at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave, Schenectady, NY. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon October 22, 2006 from 4 to 6 pm. Interment in St. Cyril's Cemetery, Rotterdam, NY .In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Freddie's memory to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eight Ave., 6th floor, New York, NY 10001 or to the Harford Hospice, 8003 Suite G, Corporate Drive, Baltimore, MD 21236.
