Frederick Thomas Cullen was born in Schenectady 90 years ago. Fred Cullen passed away peacefully on February 28 at Ellis Hospital after a brief illness. His wife of 67 years Vera (Doris Vera Andrews) was by his side. He is also survived by his daughter Bonnie Nuendel (Don); son Andrew (Jan-Marie Spanard); four grandchildren, Thomas Nuendel (Amanda Ellis), Andrew Nuendel (Lavon Pruitt), Amanda Faulkner (Bill) and Colden Patrick Cullen; and two great grandchildren, Micah and Naomi Faulkner. He served proudly in Europe with the 8th Armored Divison of United States Army in World War II. He will forever be remembered and beloved for his love of life and sense of humor. He enjoyed his family, painting, sculpting, tinkering in the basement workshop and sailing. He and Vera lived all their lives in Rotterdam and Schenectady and loved to travel. He was a long time communicant of Bellevue and Lynnwood Reformed Churches and in retirement spent many years as a volunteer at the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York. Fred worked at General Electric for 39 years. Funeral Services for Frederick will be on Friday March 4, 2016 at 11AM at the Lynnwood Reformed Church 3714 Carman Road Guilderland. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend. A calling hour will be Friday 10-11AM at the church. Internment will be in Memory's Garden in Colonie. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Frederick's memory to the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern NY 965 Albany Shaker Road Latham, NY 12110.
