Frederick H Anderson Jr

Frederick H. Anderson Jr., 83, of Rotterdam passed away on Saturday April 14, 2018 surrounded by his loving family at home. Born in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Frederick and Hazel (Buhrmaster) Anderson. He served his country in the Army from 1955-1963. Frederick was employed as a truck driver for the St. Johnsbury Trucking Company. He was a member of the Local Teamsters Union 294 and served as a shop steward. Frederick had served as a deacon for the Trinity Reformed Church in Rotterdam. He was also a passionate World War 2 European Theater history buff. Frederick was also very proud that he had given 16 gallons of blood in his life to help others. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by one sister Audrey L. Kinum. Frederick is survived by his loving wife Jean (Reynolds) Anderson of Rotterdam, his four sons Gary Anderson (Wendy) of Destin, Fl., Tod Anderson (Gayle) of Edgewater, Fl., Frederick Anderson III (Terri) of Schenectady and Scott Anderson (Patricia) of Scotia. He is also survived by five grandchildren Matthew Anderson (Lindsey) of Florida, David Anderson of Florida, Sarah Cotugno (Jonathan) of Maryland, David Anderson of Schenectady and Derrick Anderson of Scotia as well as one great grandchild Isaac Paul Cotugno. A Celebration of Frederick's life will be Thursday April 19, 2018 at 11:30AM at the Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. A visitation will be held from 10:30AM-11:30AM prior to the service. Inurnment will be held privately with military honors at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
