Francis W Larmore

Francis W. Larmore, 98, of Augustine Avenue Rotterdam died at home Friday January 19, 2007. Francis was born in Cohoes and was the son of the late Ovila and Anna (Rochefort) Larmore. He grew up in Wappinger Falls and has lived in the Schenectady area since 1934. He was the former owner for 40 years of the United Tree Service in Schenectady, retiring in 1982. Francis was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Schenectady for over 70 years. He was a member of the Schenectady County Nocturnal Adoration Society. Francis was active in the formation of the Rotterdam Boys Club and a charter member of Rotterdam Kiwanis and its President in 1950. He served as a member of the Draper School Board of Education from 1950-1959. Francis was a past President of the NYS Arborists Association and a member of the American Society of Consulting Arborists. He was instrumental in making the Sugar Maple Tree, the official tree of New York State and was also instrumental in the Licensing of the application of the Use of Chemicals in NYS. Francis is predeceased by his wife Margaret Bird Larmore whom he married August 4, 1934. He is survived by three children F. William Larmore of Hudson, FL, Margaret Larmore of Port Jefferson Station, LI and Mary Lou Gaudreau of Willimantic, CT, one sister Dorothy Parrella of Edmond, OK, also survived by 9 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren. Funeral services will be Wednesday 10:15AM from the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue Schenectady followed by a Mass at 11AM at Immaculate Conception Church 520 Bradt Street Schenectady. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend. Calling Hours will be Tuesday 5-7PM at the funeral home. Internment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna. Contribution's can be made in Francis memory to Community Hospice 1411 Union Street Schenectady, NY 12308.
