Flag L. Herrick Iii

Flag Louis Herrick III - Born March 27, 1953 - died July 27, 2024 in Schenectady, NY with his devoted sister, Vicki, and brother-in-law, John, by his side.  He is also survived by his older sisters, Teddie and Cathi.  Flag and Cathi always enjoyed sharing a birthday every year as they were born exactly two years apart.

Flag delighted in sharing his encyclopedic knowledge he acquired from reading nonfiction, especially biographies and studies in American history.  Flag had many jobs but he spent the majority of his time driving trucks. One of his driving positions offered him the opportunity to haul specialized loads around the country.  Through out his life he visited every state but two. Flag enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was incredibly kind, giving generously during special occasions and holidays. Flag really enjoyed time spent with his nephew facing the challenges of spelunking and hiking and going to an occasional rock concert. Flag always liked old cars and trucks and eventually bought a 1955 FWD truck to restore. He was a long time valued member at The NISK-A-MONT gun club. Vicki always enjoyed going there with him because he was great at teaching gun safety and shooting fundamentals. Flag had such a good heart and he exemplified the meaning of loyalty. He was very private about his faith in God but during this past year had shared his trust in Jesus as his savior.

Flag will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family will be having a private service.
