Evelyn Viscusi

Evelyn Viscusi, 100, of Schenectady passed away on Wednesday January 1, 2025. She was born in Schenectady and was the daughter of the late Hugh and Nellie (Wood) Gordon.

She was a homemaker taking care of her 5 children, then her grandchildren as well as working various jobs.

Evelyn was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Church in Schenectady and was a member of its Rosary Society. She was a member of the Bellevue Little League’s Ladies Auxiliary, the Schenectady County Board of Elections, and the Rotterdam Seniors.

She is predeceased by her husband Arthur Viscusi Sr., a daughter Janice Viscusi and her siblings-Helen Stewart, Robert Gordon, Jessie Adams, Clara Reynolds, Margaret Algie, Hugh Gordon Jr., Thelma Livingston, Jean Gordon, and Doris McMorris.

Evelyn is survived by her children Arthur Viscusi  Jr.(Roseanne), Kathy DeGasperis (Robert), Elizabeth Coppola (John) and Marianne Ostrander (Gary). She is also survived by nine grandchildren-Stephen Viscusi, Audra Viscusi Hedden, Duilio Viscusi (Nicole), David Viscusi (Vanessa), Amanda Hoffman (Justin), Nicholas DeGasperis (Vanessa), Anthony Coppola (Elinor), Mark Coppola (Samantha) and Matthew Ostrander (Nicole) as well as 21 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Schenectady Center and especially the Cedar Unit for their friendship and care given to her during her last few years.

A Celebration of Evelyn’s life will be on Friday January 10, 2025 at 12 noon at the Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Avenue Schenectady.  A Visitation will be from 10-12 prior.

Private interment in Evergreen Memorial Park.
