Evelyn L. Staroba 93 died five days prior to her birthday on March 22, 2006 at Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Scotia after a short illness. Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Fannie (Burrell) Speanburg. Evelyn worked as a caretaker at Beth Israel Synagogue for many years. She was a member of Rotterdam United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Rebecca Lodge of the Eastern Star, a volunteer at St Clares Hospital and a member of the Pioneer Club. Evelyn loved being around her family and friends and enjoyed crafts and sewing. Evelyn was the widow of the late Frank Molnar, Henry Seaman and William Staroba, and the sister of the late Renne Speanburg. She is survived by her brother Herbert E. Speanburg of Schenectady her beloved niece, Barbara Mc Swain (Lawrence) of Rotterdam her beloved nephew Gary Speanburg (Phyllis) of Westfield, MA, her great niece and nephews, Laura Speanburg of Baldwinsville, Christopher P. Speanburg (Jennifer) Everett, WA and David McSwain of Schenectady and great great niece and nephew, Christopher A. Speanburg and Christine Speanburg. A memorial service will be held on Saturday April 1, 2006 at 2 pm at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, NY. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1 to 2 prior to the service. At Evelyn's request spring interment will be held in the Speanburg family lot in West Charlton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her memory to the Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 297 N. Ballston Ave, Scotia, NY 12302 or to Rotterdam United Methodist Church, Helderberg Ave. & Curry Rd., Schenectady, NY 12306.
