Esther B Danforth (Lamont)

April 28, 1928 — December 29, 2016

Esther B. Danforth, 88, of Rotterdam, passed away on Thursday December 29, 2016 at the Baptist Health and Rehabilitation Center in Scotia. Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Mary Ellen (Barton) LaMont. Esther was employed for many years as a waitress at Morrette's Steak House in Schenectady, retiring in 1967. She was a devoted and loving wife. Esther is predeceased by her daughter Janet Hopson and fifteen brothers and sisters. She is survived by her loving husband Thomas Danforth whom she married July 10, 1966, one daughter Elaine Leger of Schenectady, also survived by six grandchildren Susan Mahoney-Clark, Sharon Leger, Norman Alfieri, Alden Leger, Audrey Taylor and Chris Leger as well as five great grandchildren James Mahoney, Justin Sikorski, Emily Taylor, Christine Taylor and Lauren Taylor and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Esther's life will be on Tuesday at 1PM at the Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Avenue Schenectady, Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Internment will be in Vale Cemetery in Schenectady. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Esther's memory to the American Red Cross 33 Everett Road Albany, NY 12205.
