Esther R. Furbeck 83 of Crane Street died Friday morning September 3, 2004 at Sunnyview Hospital after a short illness. Born in Princetown, NY, Esther was the daughter of the late Charles and Jennie (Fowler) Stead and a graduate of Draper High School. A homemaker, she had worked at the General Electric Company during WWII. Esther was a Jehovah Witness and a member of Kingdom Hall in Schenectady. She was predeceased in 1991 by he husband of 49 years Marshall S. Furbeck. Survivor's include two children; Muriel F. Cole and husband James of Rotterdam and Bruce M. Furbeck and wife Marsha of Rotterdam, a sister; Blanche Steuart of Rotterdam, four grandchildren; Keith McGovern and wife Kara of Rotterdam, Brandon McGovern of Brooklyn, NY, Julie Drexel and husband Michael of Duanesburg and Joanna Furbeck of Rotterdam, two step grandchildren; James Cole 3rd of Schenectady and Tyler Cole of Duanesburg, two great grandchildren; Kassia McGovern and Lucas Filardi, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon September 8, 2004 at 2 pm at the Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave, Schenectady, NY. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home from 12 to 2 pm prior to the funeral service. Internment will be in Schenectady Memorial Park, Rotterdam, NY.
