Ernest M. Lee Jr. 72 passed away on Monday January 24th at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY.
Born and educated in Schenectady, Ernest was the son of the late Ernest M and Laura (Harris) Lee Sr. and was a 1969 graduate of Mohonasen High School.
A former teacher at the Colonna and Orlo Beauty Schools, Ernest was the former owner of the House of Pride and Shear Distinction Salons in Albany for many years. He also worked as a payroll clerk for more than 15 years for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation prior to his retirement in 2008.
A member of the former Carman Methodist Church, Ernest loved flowers and decorating for the Christmas Holidays, attending the theater in New York City and vacations to Provincetown.
Survived by his life partner of over 36 years, Brian Hauptman, Ernest is also survived by his sisters, Diana Batcher (Late Gerald) of Schenectady and Robin Lee of Schenectady, his brother, Robert Lee (Sheila) of Charlton and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A service to celebrate Ernest’s life will be held on Monday January 31st at 12 noon at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, NY. A visitation for family and friends will be held at the funeral home from 10 to 12 noon prior to the service. (Masks are required at the funeral home for the visitation and services)
Interment in Memory Gardens, Colonie, NY.
