Emma Jean Enous was born in Schenectady, New York on December 22, 1957. Emma Jean graduated from Mont Pleasant High School in 1975. She later attended and graduated from Stratford School in Albany, NY in 1985. Emma worked for the New York State Taxation and Finance Department in Albany. Emma Jean was elected one of New York States black business women for her entrepreneurship in marketing and advertising for her company Enous and Wood Inc. She was also elected to sit at a round table for black business women with former Vice President Al Gore. Emma served in many capacities as a volunteer at the Schenectady Salvation Army ,as well as being employed by the Carver Community Center in Schenectady. While at Carver, Emma promoted the Adopted Child Programs for the under privileged familes and volunteered at many different organization through out the city and county of Schenectady. She loved attending the Refreshing Springs Church of God and Christ and was passionate about playing cards and spending time with her family. Emma's friends knew her as Queenie. The services for Emma Jean Enous will be held on Monday morning August 8, 2016 at 11 am at the Refreshing Springs Church of God and Christ, 327 Georgetta Dix Plaza, Schenectady, NY 12307 with a visitation for Emma at the church from 10 to 11 am prior to her services.
