Emily A Smith (Morrett)

Emily A. Smith, 91, of Schenectady passed away on Wednesday November 23, 2022, at the Glendale Home. Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Albina (Caprio) Morrett.

She was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School. Emily was a homemaker, but also worked at the former Immaculate Conception Church in Schenectady as a housekeeper. At the church, she was also a member of the Altar Rosary Society, and the Euclid School PTA. Emily was also an avid Yankee fan.

Family was everything to her and she spent an endless amount of time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family would like to express their deep gratitude to Glendale Nursing Home Erie Crossing and extend a special thank you to Grace Micco and Tiffany Fledow RN.

She is predeceased by her sister Frances Jones.

Emily is survived by her loving husband Robert L. Smith, her loving children Gail D. Barber (late James) and Gary R. Smith of Rotterdam, her brother Donald Morrett of Schenectady and her grandchildren Justin Barber, Aubrey Galietta, Joshua Smith (Sara), Nicholas Smith (Jennifer) and Ryan Barber (Amanda Davis). She is also survived by 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Emily will begin at 10:30AM on Wednesday November 30, 2022 at the Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Avenue Schenectady followed by a Mass at 11AM at Our Lady Queen of Peace 210 Princetown Road Rotterdam. Visitation will be from 9-10:30AM prior to at the funeral home.

Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Schenectady.
