Elsie M Stewart (Spetla)

Elsie M. Stewart 91, passed away early Saturday morning December 31st at Ellis hospital in Schenectady. Born and educated in Schenectady, Elsie was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Kazda) Spetla and a graduate of Draper Schools. A secretary with the General Electric Company, Elsie retired from the company after 39 years of service. She was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club, GE Women's Club and the Clifton Park, Malta and Ballston Spa Senior Citizens. Elsie also enjoyed bingo, the casino's and fishing. Predeceased in 2007 by her husband of 51 years Floyd I. Stewart, Elsie was also preceded by her siblings, Joseph Spetla, Charles Spetla, Mary Yeomans and Milada Diemer. Survivor's include her children; William F. Stewart (Madine) of Ballston Lake and Karen L Belden (Late Michael) of Concord, NC, her brothers; Harold Spetla of Middle Grove, NY and Frank Spetla (Kathy) of Ballston Lake, her sisters; Vivian Deas of Dallas, TX and Shirley Hausler (Robert) of Queensbury ,many nieces and nephews and her cat Sheena. Funeral services will be held on Thursday morning January 5th at 12 noon at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, NY. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 11 to 12 noon prior to the services. Interment will be in Memory's Garden in Colonie, NY. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Elsie's memory to the Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Avenue, Scotia, NY 12302.
