Elsie Mae Livingston,97. passed away Tuesday morning April 4th at Ellis Hospital surrounded by her family. Born on July 23, 1919 in the town of Rotterdam, Elsie was the daughter of the late Charles and Helen (Avery) Briscoe. A graduate of the former Draper High School, Elsie worked for the General Electric Company for over 30 years, retiring as a Document Configuration Technician in 1982. A member of the GE Quarter Century Club, Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, the Rotterdam Democratic club and many bowling leagues over the years, Elsie was an avid Met's fan. She enjoyed sports,(bowling , baseball, ice hockey) and once played basketball with Helen Patten's Girls Club Team. She enjoyed telling family and friends how things where in Rotterdam many years ago, loved music, dancing, doing various puzzles and going to the casino. Predeceased in 1996 by her husband Raymond C. Livingston and her brother Arnold Briscoe, Elsie is survived by her son, Lanny A. Livingston (Deborah Blackford) of Latham, a sister, Katherine Preece of WA, her beloved grandchildren, Melissa Addy (Thomas) and Paul Livingston (Monica), her cherished great grandchildren, Matthew, Isaiah, Josiah, Daniel and Cal and many nieces and nephews. A memorial mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday morning April 10th at 9:30am at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 210 Princetown Road, Rotterdam, NY. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment in Schenectady Memorial Park. Contributions may be made in Elsie's memory to Make a Wish Foundation of NENY, 1275 Broadway, Albany, NY 12204.
