Elizabeth S. Valachovic, 85, of Rotterdam passed away at home on Thursday May 26, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Cecyle (Maiden) Stillwell. Elizabeth was employed for 20 plus years at the Pioneer Savings Bank as the head teller and a customer service representative at the bank. She was a member of the Rotterdam United Methodist Church. Elizabeth was a member of the women and banking association. She also worked as a teacher's aide at Draper school. She also volunteered as a Girl Scout leader, a Den leader for the Cub scouts and finally as cheerleading coach for Pop Warner in Rotterdam. Elizabeth was a part of the GE retirees- Happy Wanderers. She also enjoyed her breakfast club with Aggie Corina and Sandy. She dearly loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and spending time with them. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband Bernard Valachovic whom she married August 6, 1955. She is also predeceased by seven brothers. Elizabeth is survived by her four loving children, James Valachovic (Winifred) of Glenville, Daniel Valachovic (Becky) of Rotterdam, Dianne O'Connor (Mickey) of Scotia and Barbara Glasser (Robert) of Rotterdam, one sister Jane Marie Prange, also survived by eighteen grandchildren, Dillion O'Connor (Caitlin), Aidan O'Connor, Elizabeth Leahy (Casey), Kemi O'Connor, Jocelyn O'Connor, Jasmine O'Connor, Jacob O'Connor, Jeremy O'Connor, Jason O'Connor, Morgan Valachovic, Hannah Valachovic (Samuel Stecher), Danielle Valachovic, Natalie Valachovic, Rob Glasser, Brandon Glasser, Jill Valachovic, Marlo Valachovic (Shannon) and Casey Harr (Jason). She is also survived by nine great grandchildren Avery, Angelo, William, Amelia, Elodie, Tianna, Olivia, Jaxson and Madison, as well as several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be Thursday June 2, 2016 at 12 noon at the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation will be 10AM-12noon prior to the service. Inurnment will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY.
