Elizabeth A Smarro

Elizabeth A. Smarro, 64 of Glenville died Monday evening August 28, 2006 at her daughter's home in Saratoga Springs after a long illness. Born and educated in Albany, NY she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Leona Pickel. For many years Liz lived and helped operate Candage Pony Farm in Rotterdam Junction with her companion the late Gilbert Benirowski until the business was sold in 2001. Liz is survived by he son Thomas Busch(Terri) of Scotia and daughter Kimberly Bolger(William) of Saratoga Springs, her brothers, Joseph Pickel of Albany, Daniel Pickel of Colonie, Michael Pickel(Sue) of Rensselaer, and David Pickel of Guilderland ,her sisters, Kathy Pailey of Colonie and Michelle McGuire of Watervliet, step-daughters Nancy Smarro and Marie Turner (Bruce) both of Schenectady, her grandchildren Thomas, Bobby, Christopher and Jason Busch, Kayla and Gregory Bolger , Brianna Smarro, Arielle and Spencer Turner and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday morning September 1, 2006 at 8:15am at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave, Schenectady, followed at 9 am at St. Paul the Apostle Church, Albany St. where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be held Thursday evening at the funeral home from 6 to 8 pm. Interment in St Joseph's Cemetery.
