Elizabeth M Howenstein

January 21, 1921 — September 16, 2007

Elizabeth Miller Howenstein, 86, of Carman Road, Guilderland died Sunday September 16, 2007 after a brief illness. Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Elizabeth (Conlon) Miller. She was a 1939 graduate of Mont Pleasant High School and Spencer Business School. Elizabeth was employed by the New York Telephone Company and the General Electric Company, retiring from the Finance Division in 1976. She was a member of St. Madeleine Sophie Church in Guilderland. She was a "Basketball Grandmother" and enjoyed her grandsons High School and College Games. She enjoyed Bowling and was involved in Local Politics and was an avid New York Yankees Baseball Fan. Elizabeth is predeceased by her husband of 50 years Wayne Howenstein who died in 1992 and one son John Howenstein who died in 1998 as well as one brother Fred Miller who also died in 1992 She is survived by her loving daughters- Gail Willa (Dan) of Pocasset, MA and Jill Osinski ( Ron) of Rotterdam, also survived by 4 caring and loving Grandchildren-Caryn Lister ( James), Keith Willa ( Carroll) both of Salem, MA and Corey Osinski ( Rachel) of Ballston Spa and Kevin Osinski ( Tessa) of Washington, DC.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday September 19, 2007 at 12 noon at St Madeleine Sophie Church 3500 Carman Road, Guilderland. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend. Calling hours will be Tuesday evening 6-8PM at the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. Internment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna. Contribution's can be made in Elizabeth's memory to the Joan Nicole Prince Home 22 Glenview Drive Scotia, NY 12302. A Special "Thank You" is extended to the caring and compassionate nurses and volunteers with Hospice.
