Elizabeth "Betty" Leonard (Hilliker)

Elizabeth “Betty” Leonard, 86, of Rotterdam passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Monday June 13, 2022. Born in Gilboa, NY, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mildred (Decker) Hilliker.

Betty was employed for 28 years for Trustco Bank, retiring as a bank auditor. She loved hosting picnics in her backyard. Betty loved to travel with her husband Gordon to Tennessee, Virginia, Florida and Pennsylvania. She was also passionate about gardening, raising both flowers and vegetables. Betty also loved reading a good mystery novel. She also loved cats especially her Trisha.

She is predeceased by her son Charles Johnston.

Betty is survived by her husband Gordon Leonard, her children Thelma Christaldi of Cape Coral, FL, Theresa Turner of Schenectady, Lucinda Johnston of Schenectady and Geraldine Forgett of Schenectady, her stepchildren Karen Leonard of Perth and Lisa Nolf of Lake Worth, FL. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

A Visitation to celebrate Betty’s Life will be Saturday June 18, 2022 from 10-11AM at the Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Avenue Schenectady.

Interment will follow in Schenectady Memorial Park in Rotterdam.
