Elizabeth Gorden

Elizabeth B. (Betty) Gorden passed away on Friday, June 12, 2009, at Hickory House Nursing Home in Honey Brook, PA. Born on October 22, 1914, she was 94 years old. She was predeceased by her parents, G. Homer and Ida G. Brown, by her husband Robert H. Gorden in 1951, and by her sister, Jane A. Storck, in 2004. Betty lived her entire life in Schenectady, NY until moving to Coatesville, PA in 1991. She was a 1932 graduate of Schenectady High School and also graduated from Mildred Elley Business School. She worked for General Electric and for Mohawk Advertising Company for 25 years until her retirement in 1977. She also was a lifetime member of the Bellevue Reformed Church in Schenectady. Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Leppla of Coatesville, PA, with whom she resided, and her son, R. Bruce Gorden (and wife Diane) of Wisconsin Rapids, WI and The Villages, FL. Also surviving Betty are two granddaughters, Cynthia Buttke (and husband Mike) in Wisconsin and Tracy Gorden in Florida, we well as her former son-in-law, George Leppla of Shreveport, LA. Funeral Services will be Wednesday at 1PM at Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend. A Calling Hour will be from 12-1PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park in Colonie, NY.
