Elfriede M Van Wormer

Elfriede Mayer Van Wormer,86,of Rotterdam died Friday April 2, 2010 at home. Born in Germany, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Marie (Lenzer). After High School, she worked for a short time for the General Electric Company in Schenectady. Elfriede then became a Homemaker. She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Rotterdam and taught for many years in the Sunday School. Her happiness in life was being a wife, mother, grandmother and working in her flower garden. Elfriede is predeceased by her husband Rolland Van Wormer whom she was married for 60 years. She is survived by one son Richard Van Wormer (Jennifer) of Rotterdam, one twin sister Lore Ellis ( David) of Rotterdam, two Grandsons Christofer and Benjamin Van Wormer as well as three nephews David Ellis ( Roberta) of North Tonawanda, William Ellis of Rotterdam and Jack Ellis (Patricia) of Glenville. Funeral Services will be Tuesday April 20, 2010 at 10AM at the Messiah Lutheran Church 2850 Guilderland Avenue Rotterdam. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling Hours will be Monday evening 6-8PM at the church. Internment will be in Schenectady Memorial Park in Rotterdam.
