Eleanor G Zasada

Eleanor G. Zasada, 79, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening August 5th at Ellis Hospital. Born in Albany, NY she was the daughter of the late Martin and Anna (Kochan) Govel. Eleanor worked for the Schenectady D.M.V. as a clerk until her retirement in 1992. She loved cooking and baking especially Christmas cookies, and also enjoyed gardening. Eleanor loved animals, her grandchildren, and most of all her beloved dog "Josh". Eleanor was predeceased by her husband Raymond Zasada in 1971. She is survived by two sons James Zasada (Linda) of Rotterdam and Paul Zasada (Erin) of Coeur D' Alene, ID, two daughters Susan Ferrara (Peter) of Albany and Debra Lees of Esperance. She is also survived by four brothers Martin Govel of Rotterdam, Stanley Govel (Peggy) of Maryland, Leonard Govel of Coxsackie, and Richard Govel (Kathy) of Albany, and one sister Laurette Reagan (Robert) of Rotterdam. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren Nathan and Elizabeth Zasada and Anna, Ryan, Tara, Jenna, and Amanda Lees, as well as many nieces and nephews. Eleanor was also predeceased by her beloved companion Anthony Mastriani. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday morning August 11th at 10am at St. Madeline Sophie's Church 3500 Carman Road in Schenectady. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
