Eleanor R Yannotti (Pasquarello)

March 27, 1928 — April 8, 2022

Eleanor R. Yannotti, age 94 of Schenectady NY passed on to heaven Friday April 8, 2022. Eleanor was born in Schenectady on March 27, 1928. Devoted and beloved wife of 58 years of the late Anthony J. Yannotti until his passing in 2010, cherished daughter of the late Merien and Mary (DeMarco) Pasquarello, and loving sister of the late Eugene (Betty) Pasquarello. Loving mother of the late Richard Yannotti. Cherished Aunt of the late Susan (Steve) Castle and Charles Pasquarello. Survived by sons Arthur (Nancy) Yannotti and James (Christine) Yannotti, grandchildren Jennifer (Keith) Latham, Andrea (Daniel) Lucynski, Joseph (Bethany) Yannotti, Danielle (Peter) Allegretti, Jessica Baia, Ashley (Taylor) Ryder and great grandchildren Jacob, Briana, Jude, Dylan, Esther Mabel, Emerson, Oliver and Aubrey. Also survived by nephews Thomas (Nanette) Pasquarello, Paul (Beth) Pasquarello, John (Kim) Pasquarello, and several cousins.

Eleanor graduated from Mont Pleasant High School in Schenectady in 1946 and the Ellis School of Nursing in 1949 as a registered nurse, where she began a very long and successful career of almost 40 years in that field. Eleanor retired in 1988 after working for both Ellis Hospital and in later years the Dr.’s Brown, Cioffi, Seftel, Soni, and Arrascue practice. Eleanor always stated she felt as young girl a need to want to help people, and never regretted one minute being a nurse despite the demands of the profession.

On October 6, 1951 Eleanor married the love of her life Anthony Yannotti, and shortly thereafter moved to Evergreen Ave. in Rotterdam where she remained for the next 65 years. It was at this residence where they raised their sons and enjoyed many joyful life moments of birthdays, holidays, graduations, and other important occasions. Family was everything to her and somehow always found time to entertain close family members and friends, taking time for preparation of extensive dinners and parties, while at the same time not compromising her profession. Regular visits with family members were always a priority to her, and she expected no less from her own family. In her retirement years she traveled extensively and enjoyed many happy reunion occasions with her husband’s WWII veteran association, the Battleship USS Missouri. She shared in the pride of her husband being on board the battleship when treaty was signed to end the war with Japan in 1945. In her much later years, she volunteered at the American Italian Heritage Museum in Albany, which she enjoyed to a great degree and made several new friends. She always celebrated her Italian heritage and was very proud of all the family accomplishments after arriving in the USA. Faith was also an important part of Eleanor’s life; as a longtime member of Our Lady Queen of Peace (formerly Our Lady of Assumption) parish, she attended mass regularly up until the later years of her life when she became physically unable to do so.

The family wishes to thank the great staff of Ingersoll Place, the Schenectady Center, and Community Hospice who provided great care for her in the final years of her life.

In lieu of flowers please send contributions to the Community Hospice, 445 New Karner Road, Albany NY 12205.
