Eleanor J Mclaine

Eleanor J. McLaine 96, passed away on Tuesday January 11th at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born and educated in Scranton, PA, Eleanor was the daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Androkavitz) Witts.

A graduate of Technical High School in Scranton, Eleanor went on and received a degree from Keystone Junior College and her RN nursing degree from the State Hospital School of Nursing in Scranton, PA.

A registered nurse for more than 45 years, Eleanor worked in Scranton, Ellis Hospital, St Clare’s Hospital and retired as a private duty nurse.
A talented seamstress and creative crafter, Eleanor enjoyed crocheting. She charmed everyone who met her with her smile. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Eleanor was also a member of the L.O.R.E. and St Luke’s Church in Schenectady.

Beside her parents, Eleanor was also predeceased by her beloved husband of 47 years Robert E. McLaine, her sisters, Josephine Brudzinski and Gladys Thibault and brothers, Chester, William and Eugene Witts.

She is survived by her children, Robert S. McLaine of Rotterdam, Michael J. McLaine (Tina) of Rotterdam and Patricia A. Genereux (John) of Leicester, her sister, Florence Conway of Littleton, CO, her 6 grandchildren, John Genereux (Renee), Amanda McLaine (Michael Netheway), Caitlin Drago (David), Ryan McLaine (Justine), Lindsey Greco (Jason) and Amy Bradley, 11 great grandchildren, dear friend Dolores Rogers, many nieces and nephews and her devoted dog Gabby.

Funeral services for Eleanor will be held on Tuesday morning January 18th at 8:15 am at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, NY followed at 9 am at St Luke’s Church, 1241 State Street, Schenectady, NY where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. A visitation for Eleanor will be held at the funeral home on Monday evening from 5 to 7 pm.

Entombment will be at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna, NY.
